Academic & learning environment

Founded in 1961, ISBerne offers the full International Baccalaureate continuum across the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, with a bilingual diploma option and newer German-English pathways aligned to Lehrplan 21. English is the main language of instruction, though it is not the first language for most pupils.

Student experience

The school is a close-knit, largely mobile international community where many families stay for several years. A Grade 10 bridging year supports pupils moving from the Swiss system.

Extra-curricular activities

Pupils take part in arts, athletics and the International Award, alongside Outdoor Education Week, Ski and Skate Fridays and after-school activities.

Admissions

ISBerne welcomes new pupils year-round where space allows, with support available in English, German or French.
